Default Questions about installing tail lights...

Ok so I bought these tail lights...

I didn't really like the look of the center piece in the first place, but when I went to put it in one of the screws popped off on the right side, so it doesn't fit well at all. It's been raining for 2 days and it's filled half way with water.

So I was thinking of just putting my factory piece back in and blacking it out because I really like the right and left ones. But nowhere on earth do they make a blackout for that middle piece. So I was thinking of tinting it myself.

How should I black this out, with window tinting from like auto zone or something? Or do they make special tints for tail lights. My other question, will this even work? Will it hold up in rain and what not?

Where can I get that at? I'm wanting to solve this problem tonight so if I have to order it that would suck. Have you ever heard of anyone putting window tint on lights?

The 2 side pieces fit perfect, but the middle piece would not go flush with the trunk or other lights. Even before I broke that screw off it wasn't fitting right.

I'vejust read other posts here about people using this spray, they mention a clear coat, what would I use for that?

Yeah, I have similar ones (chrome) that fit like crap. If you look at where they were put together, you'll notice that glue/adhesive used to keep them together keeps the front side (clear) and back side (black/chrome/carbon fiber) from being flush. This creates the gap that allows water, dirt, bugs in. I am planning on opening them up anyways to paint match them to my car, so I'll hopefully be able to alleviate the gap issue.
