Interesting name.
Fewer than other colors.
Likely it is named after San Marino, an Italian Republic founded 301AD.
Noted for its wines both red and white.
Red is Sangiovese Red.
Also grown in Ca.
"Color of garnets, deep and vibrant crimson"
(Luna 2005 Sangiovese wine)

where did that come from?

Car name colors are always an interesting sort...why cant it just be red?

No, it isn't just another interesting name.
San Miguel is the PI national brew.
Brewery long timewas on the Pasig river.
Japanese filled it with bodies 1944.
Non export beer strong taste of formaldehyde.
Export beer excellent.
Get over your limitations.
