Default Shift **** Removal

I was looking at my shifter and it doesn't appear to be a twist off style. It seems to be attached to a square piece of some sort that the shift boot goes over.... I recall my buddy trying to take off one with this similar style in a 1997 and having problems because it doesn't twist at all... how does this thing come off? I want my sparco **** back...

What year accord are you running? If it's an older model it should just twist off. You need to push the boot down(push the plastic under it down until it unfastens) and then twist the **** off. I don't know about new models though.

first pull down on the boot, there are 2 clips on the front and on the back under the boot, so it should pull down, and then just twist the **** till it comes of.
