you could use a universal one, another way to do it is chop the stick down and get a tap and die set and re-thread it for the new shifter.

This sparco globe (link below) is a universal fit and they work just fine. As for cutting the stick I'm not sure why it isn't safe but it DOES reduce the throw, it's simple physics, if you shorten the height of the stick it won't travel as far from one point to the next. If you want further proof of this grab your stick under the shift **** and shift it from there, you should notice the difference.
The reason I know this is true is because I chopped my stick on my old 94 civic and used this exact shift ****.
I would agree that a true short shifter is MUCH better in the long run but you can accomplish the basic results by reducing the height of the shifter.

I'm gonna chop mine (all you need is a hacksaw and a cheap tap&die set.) I already have the $20 Megan Racing short shift adapter. It reduced the throw a decent amount. But yes, the 6th gen stick isso long I feel like I'm driving an old diesel truck. I can reach the buttons on my radio if I have it in 5th with my hand stillon the shifter.
I just don't see spending $200 on a dang shifter.
