RE: Tint
I had 0%s on my suburban, way to dark to see out at night. 5%s you can see if there is some light outside, from other cars or street lights. 10%s is what I have now. I can see fine at night and in the day you can't really see in the car, sometimes you can just see there is someone in it, but not what they're doing. I recomend 5% if your going to be doing illegal things while driving or parked somewhere.

RE: Tint
That depends on your state, its usually either 35% or 50%. I know in Florida its 35%, but that is the only law they don't enforce and no one abides by it.
EDIT: If you mean the windshield I think thats illegal in every state.

RE: Tint
i like my 15%, i think it looks good, but it is all about opinion (unless you are planning to do something illegal, like t00fat said, then you should get 2.5%). in california, the darkest you can have on the driver and passenger (front) windows is 70%...lol

RE: Tint
I would not do a DIY tint job... unless you have magical talent you'll probably get bubbles or accidently separate the 2 layers of poly or whatever it is. 70% seems like a waste of money since it will be barely dark. The legal limit here in MN is 50% and even that seems nearly clear when I see it.
