i was at a website that had a TSX and they called it an accord? can someone straighten this out for me...?

 

be happy to... here in the states, it is called an acura tsx its running a 2.4 liter ivtec which makes 200 hp and is available with a 6speed. in many other countries, acura in general doesnt even exist. in japan there is no acura nsx, its a honda something or other. in all other countries the tsx is the accord R. and still runs that 2.4 liter motor but it makes 240 hp. there have been rumors that we may get a tsx type-s that would be an almost identical counterpart of the accord R.

In Japan the TSX is both the Accord with both 2.4 and 2.0 liter engines. The Euro R that is sold only in Japan(to the anger of Europeans) actually has a K20 with 240bhp. The "luxery" model of the Japanese Accord has the 200bhp K24. There are also wagon versions including an all wheel drive version.

 

Hey lightshow i hate to burst your bubble but acura does exist everywhere else, just like honda does honda is seen more cause most folks cant afford the acura's depending on the cities like smaler cities wont have an acura dealer. But dont say they dont exist

 

From what I've read on a lot of websites (and at the dealer), the Acura TL is basically a Honda Accord..just heavier.

 

Could be worse, theres a few sites that refer to preludes as the accord prelude, or just as an accord........ that one annoys the hell out of me

 

The TL is based on the Accord platform. Currently the TSX, Accord, TL and RL are all based on the Accord universal platform. They all have some differences such as the TSX having a narrower wheel base or the RL having AWD.
