would it look good to just paint a hood matte black?

my hood of my 97 accord has clear coat coming off and im wondering if it makes sense to just strip it then paint it matte black. the car is all black already

LOL...I see them every day around here, It's called a Primered hood...sometimes the doors also...

if you do an actual matte job, not just primer, they look good in my opinion. but be mindful that if you go for matte, its a constant struggle to keep it clean

I would imagine that it would be hard to keep clean with the textured finish...

no it looks AWFUL. the paint on my hood has worn off to where it looks sort of matte, an i hate it. But it may look completely different with an actual proffesional matte finish
