Angry 2001 Honda Accord Radio Install Help Me

Hello I just installed a Kenwood radio into my 2001 Honda Accord (did not use the harness but spliced) . Everything seems to be working fine except that when I turn the car on the dash lights and the shifting lights do not go on. If I turn the car off both the dash lights and the shifting lights go on. Very confused. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

you messed up the red/black illumination wire. disconnect it and cap it.

don't cut the harness in the future, spend $10 and save yourself an hour of work and hassle.
