I just got a 2002 DX and she doesnt have rear speakers. There are no holes in the rear deck (the sheet metal has holes in trunk). Do the 6x9s mount under the deck (inside the trunk) or am I suppose to cut the rear deck? Passenger side rear speaker spot has seat belt piece in way of mounting on top. Pics would be greatly appreciated.

 

you will need to cut the rear deck and use the grills that come with the 6x9's. you want to mount the 6x9's to the rear deck metal, but can put them in from inside. the rear deck will then be sandwiched between the grill and the 6x9.

to figure out where to cut, you can mark the oval from underneath with a sharpie. then remove the rear deck and cut it out. or, just cut from beneath. it's just a fiberboard and fabric so even a sharp knife would do.
