Default 2006 Spec Edition Auxiliary port problem.

I have the accord 06 spec edition and I easily plugged in the iSimple (its just like the NeoLink or whatever other devices to connect an iPod and control it from the radio buttons) and when I attach the iPod it turns on and charges fine as if it was going to work.

While the iPod shows that it's charging showing that there is a connection... the iPod does not show that it is sync'd to anything. The other thing iswhenI hit the CD/AUX button it does not change to anything.

Theories:

It might just be that the iSimple is a defective unit. Obviously there is a connection but neither the radio nor the iPod are acting like they should so it might just be the cable.

***When I've read in forums that people install these iPod devices they usually replace something in the AUX slot. My AUX slot is empty does that mean itsinactive orcan't work?

I'm calling tech support again tommorow but does anyone have any other advice please?
