hey, nice to see you are still here. thank you again for helping me a few years back for my 8th gen coupe
Trim - 2 Door EXLV6 (NV SENSING); KA 6AT
It has push button and touchscreen, attaching a photo.
I like the stock stereo and wanted to keep it because of the extras and all. My goal was to wire aftermarket amp to the stock radio and replace speakers, rewire, add subs. However, yesterday I was playing around with my USB to find out which format should it be to play songs. It is FAT32 and partition has to be primary (at least that is what worked for me). It plays mp3 BUT some not all (I don't like that). It does not play FLAC/Lossy which I don't like because in my mind, I can't put top of the line speakers, wires etc and have a bad source (meaning the quality of the file). If there is a way to play all mp3s and FLAC/Lossy on the stock radio, I would like to keep it.
Let me know what other information is needed so you can help me better.
Thank you
Your best bet is to intercept the signal at the input to the stock amp. It's a balanced 3V output that doesn't have factory EQ (flat). I have the schematics for that radio that you can use to trace wiring with (it's in a sticky thread).
FLAC is a neat idea, if you already have all of the content you want to listen to and want to store it on USB. Most of us are fine with streaming content and even mp3 when we're driving. The reality is that the noise level while driving erases the gains of lossless vs HD streaming or 320kbps mp3.
If I could have FLAC, it would be great but I am okay with 320kbps mp3. Problem is that right now the radio reads whichever mp3 it wants and not all.
Thank you for your time

I probably know the guy who makes that amp bypass you linked, and that is a legit way to simplify the process. Great idea if you need to use RCA inputs on the amp. As noted, your amp MUST have balanced RCA inputs. I'll reach out to the seller to see if they can integrate a few other features.
You don't need to correct the stock signal when you snag the signal from the stock HU before the amp. So you don't need a LOC or Fix.
essentially, the wiring coming into the stock amp is "speaker wire". If you don't choose an amp with balanced inputs, that's fine also, you can just tap signal + and signal gnd and use the RCA adapters above.
This is my amp: Lanzar - HTG888 - 5000 Watt 8-Channel Mosfet Amplifier
I have looked at amps that "support" balanced RCA inputs and I didn't see a difference between mine and theirs. Maybe I have lack of knowledge, I apologize for that, but will my amp work?
Thank you
UPDATE:
Managed to fix my problem with playing all sorts of mp3 including flac etc. Used the Hondahack app. Works flawlessly so far.
Really looking to hook up aftermarket amp so I can upgrade the speakers and get some bass as well. Very excited. Looking to post the project when I start. If the amp I have works, then I'll be starting shortly.
Thank you

Nice tip with the hondahack app. thanks for sharing.
You'll want the amp to have balanced inputs since the stock HU has a 3V balanced output. If the amp doesn't, you can get a DSP with balanced inputs, which has plenty of benefits as well.
The stock speaker adapters fit fine but need some acoustical treatments so they don't sound like plastic.

Based on your previous post, I can technically use my amp even though it is not BALANCED. I will get those adapters that you linked above. Now the question is where would I plug them in my amp?
So far whenever I used aftermarket radio I had rca for 4 speakers + sub that go from the radio to the amp. How would I do it now? Is it the same way? Does the factory radio have those or no?
Thank you
