This would not be classified as a "appearence" mod. It is mainly aimed at vastly improving vision at night time. The nicer cleaner look of the headlights is just a side bonus of this modification.

That would be true if you didn't lose light output from projectors. While the beam pattern isn't the best on the OEM 7th gen headlights, I wouldn't call the projectors an increase in visibility. Sure you will have a nice even border, but marginally less light. Don't think I'm talking down your project, I know just how hard custom fabbing can be. But I wouldn't consider it anything but an appearance upgrade, not even like that is a bad thing. I just don't like the look of my accord to begin with, I'm more of a truck guy just can't afford the gas. To each his own, I blow big bucks on sound equipment where some people would think that's a huge waste of money. Good luck man!

QFT!

eBay halo projectors = appearance mod, actually retrofitting and mounting them is performance mod.

Ahh that could very well be my misconception. Although I'm sure there is some light loss, but it is probably not noticeable. When you have that much light it is really hard to tell you've lost a few lumens. I have to used a light gauge to know when to change my HPS bulbs as I can't tell when they have lost their output. But a 600w HPS is so bright you have no idea.

What nice about projectors is the uniform pattern and even distribution of light, without the hot spots a reflected halogen creates. You may technically lose lumens, but more of the light is focuses where you want it, which I would think would make it brighter and visibility better.

Makes sense, can't wait to see how this is done.

Couldnt have worded it better myself. Definately a performance mod. =)

Okay guys I got everything in this week and started work on the headlights when I got home from work today. After I used the heat gun and heated up the glue that holds the head light together and cracked these puppys open. Well enough talking I will just show you!
