car speakers suddently stopped working

Default car speakers suddently stopped working

i was driving to school this morning and halfway there they just stopped playing. my sub still plays but none of my speakers will. i put in new rear speakers last week and new door speakers a few days ago and theyv been working fine. i didnt have my music up loud at all. could this have anything to do we me blowing the fuse of my interior lights?

Check fuses and wiring.

would it be the fuse to the radio? because the radio is still working fine and playing the sub its only the speakers

Well, then it must be the wiring to the speakers from the radio or the deck itself, unless you blew out the speakers already.

i dont think they blew out cause after school they played for a second before cutting out again.

It's probably the wiring then. Take the deck out and double check that the harness is securely plugged in and the wires are connected tight. How did you connect them together? Electrical tape?

i used crimps. i made sure they were secured very tightly and i havent moved it or anything. but ill try that anways

That's the only reason I can think of that would cause no noise to come out of the speakers.

1. The circuit board in the deck that sends audio out to the line level (speakers) is fried and still sending audio out of the RCA's to the sub.
2. Wires are loose, harness is loose in deck.
3. Bad connection at the speakers.
4. Speakers are blown.

That about all it could be, unless I'm forgetting something.

if it helps, the speakers start to crackle when i turn the volume or bass up too much
