Default CD Player not working

Original owner 2000 Accord EX-L Stock single CD player not working, but Radio and Tape Player do work. After inserting CD in slot, the display stays at ZERO (0), hearing a click every second or so as the CD Player seems to rotate the disc. Zero in display may indicate track zero?? Any sound-no pun intended- will be most appreciated.

It it possible there is something jammed in the player preventing movement, or there is damage to a few of the plastic mechanisms, or the spindle motor has failed. You could remove it from the car then remove the top and look for something that doesn't seem to belong. Replacing the radio is probably your best bet and you'll gain modern features.

Automotive CD players take on a lot of use and extreme conditions. The ones that tend to last more than 20 years are the ones that aren't used much.
