engine lag from power draw from sub
just wanted to hear from other accord owners if they experience high loss of horsepower from their sub/amp package when they are pushing the wattage limit. i have a 2000 ex v6 and since i got my sub (12" Kicker L5) i can notice a horsepower loss when accelerating. also, lol, if im in drive and not on brake or accelerator and themusic is bumpin my car will stop rolling when the bass hits and resume its slow roll when its not. i am running 80 amp wire to the battery and i understand the sub draws a lot of power but i have never been in a car with a system in which they experienced either of those things. i have a cap and a new alternator, so im not too concerned on hurting anything just wanted to hear if anyone has experienced this. thanks.

The only time i saw an amp causing problems was with a 1800watt @ 1 ohm amp the base would hit, the lights would black out in the whole car, the tack would kick up and down, the engine would almost shut off, and i would sit and look at my friend and say...... why do you need this in your car?

If the ground on your engine is going bad or has a bad connection, the extra power drawn by the amp may be dropping the voltage to the engine. I would suggest checking the engine ground going to the chassis and the power coming from the battery.

I agree with t00fatt and sir_nasty. Upgrading your ground wires is pretty cheap too.
If your ground from your battery to the chasis is going bad, you will know soon as the battery will probably get drained. I would take that wire loose and try cleaning it up if it's dirtyand look for anything that might be causing a bad connection.

here's a nice write up with a lot of pictures on how to do it.
