I don't think my 12 volt toaster oven is not getting enough amperage?
It is taking unusually long to toast my toast when I plug my 12 volt toaster into the 12 volt outlet of my car, even on maximum settings. I hooked up the toaster to the battery and it got real hot! Why am I not getting enough current to my 12 volt outlet? Having to wait 4 minutes for toast on the road is becoming real cumbersome. Help would be greatly appreciated.

who makes toast on the road?
you need to share the power draw of your toaster. then you need to run a new wire for the 12V outlet from the battery. factory wiring can only support 100W or so. you've probably burned out your outlet and/or wiring.
once you know the wattage, you can determine the wire size necessary (or i can tell you).
most likely, you'll end up buying an amplifier installation kit for either 10awg or 8awg. then use the amp install kit to connect to the battery and ground to the chassis.

Thanks for the input.
I am pretty sure I won't need to put a transformer under the hood to give my toaster the power it needs. I will deffinitly try hooking a wire directly from the battery to the 12 volt outlet.
