Default I think I blew up my 2008 premium amp

I had my battery die and got a jump. I suspect that the cables were crossed on the car with the live battery for a split second. I didn't 100% notice but that seemed to catch my eye. When I got in my car, I noticed an electronics odor. My head unit ( no nav) came up and had to be reset, so I was thinking I was in the clear. Everything seems like it is working but there is not any sound. I checked the premium fuse and it was blown. I put in a spare and it blew right away. How can I tell for sure if my amp is really fried? I assume it is but is there something to try? I am by no means a car stereo install guy but can follow some directions. I did install the GTA ipod kit without incident. And I know all about the lessons learned from not paying attention when getting a jump. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

If the fuse blows within 2 seconds you probably have a short. How is your amp being powered? Straight off the battery? Is there an inline fuse on the power going to the battery? How long is the ground wire coming off the amp and how clean/good of a connection is it to the car?

It is the factory installed system.

Ahhh that is a different story. Are you talking about the amp inside the stereo or an actual amp in the car?

when the fuse blows immediately, you have a damaged amp. bummer man. going full aftermarket would be cheaper than replacing OEM.
