how do you feel about some of the products today compared to those of the 90's?

Today's products are vastly improved for the price, amps are the exception to that rule in my opinion.... my friend has an old 25W carver tube amp that is so crystal clear it's amazing, I think that wiring and technology has improved quite a bit as has sound quality, you just can't compare a cassette deck to a cd or mp3 player. I do feel that build quality is going downhill fast since most people just toss out their old stuff at random times and loyalty and brand recognition means less than it use to.

I favor both new and old, I like the quality of the older amps, but in return I like many of the newer subs out today even though I'm running an old type sub

my pops has anold McIntosh home audio amp from the early 70s...that thing is a ****.
