The perfect stereo for your price would be a Pioneer 5900I. We sell them for either $180 or $220.

I have a JVC head unit in my '04 Accord and love it.
I also strongly endorse Alpine.
Generally the well known brand names are quality units. Just find one with a front ipod port rather than the back of unit mount...I would find a front port connect easier to use.
You will have to replace the front fascia with an after market fascia or mount the hu in the bottom storage area with a readily available kit.

The new JVC Kameleon HU's are pretty dang neat, if you want a flat black "Faceless" Unit. Eclipse is also a brand I like along with Alpine and Panasonic.

I have a JVC KD-G830 and love it... front facing USB plug, colors are customizable (even based on time!) and a great menu system... I wish the animations were better, but i rarely even have them on anyway..

The JVC KD-BT1 is the same unit, but with blue tooth capabilities...

The unit I bought was going for $280 on crutchfield at the time (in September).. apparently they don't carry it anymore... but i bought it on eBay for around $120, so i saved a ton and it was still sealed and brand new... Big Buy City was the seller's store-name, might wanna look up what they have... also, with an email request, he included a harness for free..

I've had a few pioneers and like them as well, but i've never had any problems with the JVC equipment i've bought over the years..

Also keep in mind that you will need a dash replacement kit (the turbo2), which is $150...
I've looked all over, and found a few seedy places selling it for ~120 online, but it just didn't feel right.. also, crutchfield will include the SINGLE climate control (usually sold separately) for free, which saves another $25-35... I suggest going with crutchfield on this one...

i actually plan on selling my ride soon, so if you're really interested in my parts, i'd be willing to put the stock back in place (i still have mine sitting around) and sell you my parts.. discounted of course..

If you dont want to go with the turbo2 you can always go with the 99-7862 which goes below the head unit. If you look around you can get it for about $25 and dont have to worry about losing your DCC if you have it. As far as stereo goes, i say go with Alpine. Best radios around.

if you dont want to pay for looks ill put a good word in for jensen. you pay for the sound and the features, not the looks.
