Oh wait a second a W1 is only rated for 300w. That sony amp will burn and bust that W1. A 300w amp would be very nice with the sub. The sub can handle a bit more, but you will be pushing it. With 300w you will have a long lasting nice sounding sub. That sub isn't going to be super loud, but will add a nice fill.

EDIT: I would order it online, there is not much choice at those stores, nor do they care aany real quality equipment. They also rip you off. Kicker and JL are my favorite amps, but they come with a price. I've never had a kicker amp fail on me, and I've had a few.

You can run that 250w amp if you want. That W1 is really only going to give you a nice fill. I'm not sure what your looking for, if you want big bass than you need to look else where.

If it's an RF amp, the older the better. Their new stuff isn't what is used to be since they got bought out a while back.

Im gonna have to disagree with ya on that one partner. Granted the old school RF amps were stable down to 1/4 ohm and never tore up but the new line is still very stout. They make WAY more than their ratings suggest so you get a lot more power than youre paying for - theyre still built very well too. Not as bulletproof as your standard MTX hoss but theyre still an excellent choice.

The only downside to RF amps is that everybody and their brother seems to have one. I like using gear you dont see that often.

I don't have any personal experience with RF amps, but that is what I was told by an older guy that has always seemed to know what he is talking about. But you know how older guys like to express their opinions as facts, thanks for clearing that up.

Ah its understandable. RF used to be only in the best shops and ran by only the serious guys. Now its as mainstream as Britney Spears and usually when anything is for sale in a Best Buy or Circuit City, its automatically crap.

MTX for instance make some of the finest amps on the planet but dont get anywhere near the respect they deserve because theyve always been known as a "Circuit City" brand.
