Default Newbie from Houston,TX. 03 Accord EX

I bought this car 2 weeks ago as a substitute to give my daily driver , a 06 Dodge Charger some rest, and i'm loving it. Its a 5 speed 4 cyclinder model. With my charger i learned alot about my car and my abilities thru forums like this. i can honestly say that after reading hundreds of pages of informative knowledge from members i feel i can pretty much accomplish anything i want to do with my car, and if i cant, all i have to do is ask, thats the great part. Well, here I find myself asking my 1st question on this honda forum. How can i install any type of double din(7') into the stock raido department, is this possible since the bezel is different? Or, should i get a single din with a pull out screen, i wont need nav. If anyone knows plz respond, and if there are pics here plz post aswell. Thnx again in advance.

depends on the climate control options. 2003 was the first year for integrated climate controls.

Metra 99-7864 will work on some cars depending on the climate controls. It will allow for a flip-out monitor.

For those with digital climate controls integrated into the factory radio - replacement is not possible. Those customers use the lower console pocket to install an aftermarket head unit for advanced features.

honda makes an aftermarket deck with a dvd and all that will convert the climate controls.

^ that certainly is an option. i have no experience with the product or brand. the price is 1/3 what most companies ask for a similar product. China product without markup? could be.

there is also the option of getting a full din sized graphic eq and installing that in the mounting kit or a half din and mounting it in the cubby. i too looked for a long time for a replacement stereo and decided that i think i am just going to add an eq and use the stock stereo simply to provide a signal because it doesnt offer near the adjustment i would like to have.

the real issue with the stock system is power. simply putting an amplifier on the system would improve the sound, even using stock speakers.
