I just had an emailconversation with the Sirius Support about the possibilities to change from my pre-installed XM to Sirius (to use the car's sound system + controls, not a extra little docking station) and they told me that there might be a conversion kit available at Best Buy. It's the first time I hear a positive answer, usually in all forums they say it's not possible at all. However, I have a Sirius Home-Radio and it works perfectly with a (cheaper) XM-antenna, sothe antenna itselfshouldn't be the problem. I also know that Toyota for example has both options, XM and Sirius, it's just a matter of changing the built in receiver.
Has anyone heard of this Best Buy conversion kit or even tried it? Does it work with Honda (Alpine?) Radios?

Maybe that's what they were talking about. Did anyone install this this before? Does itintegratewith the audiosystem seamlessly?

 

Wow i didnt know you could do this. I installed my alphine deck just for my sirius radio. I should of did my research. Oh well at least my system sounds better now.

 

I will have to ask at Best Buy if they have this. I hate not being able to listen to the races on Sunday's when I am on the road.

 

It looks like it's not yet available. I can't wait to get it. I had Sirius in my old car and loved it. Buzzsaw and Octaneare great and the Comedy channels are cool, too. I justtested the XM in my Accord (90 day trial) and it really su**s, bad sound, bad music compilation and the comedy channelsbroadcast commercials all the time.
