Slotted subwoofer box

RE: Slotted subwoofer box
about the same as a sheet of 3/4" MDF, a box of screws and a roll of carpetting.
Seriously, you can build a box for $50 or you can buy one for anywhere from $75 to $800. IMO, sealed produces a better sound quality. Slotted takes a pretty good understanding of box design. Simple ported would be better because you can get volume and port specs from the speaker manufacturer.
I plan to build a box with discrete sealed enclosures for 2 8's and a 15.

A slotted port has to be calculated differently when being planned and built. I'm unsure of the difference between sound, but there is a significant difference between construction and appearance.
