XM Radio id
Hi - I'm new to the forum.
I just got a brand new 2008 Accord EX-L 6 Cyl. Absolutely fantastic car.
This one came with XM, and I'm on the 3 month feebie plan. I'd like to upgrade, but I'm told I need to tune to channel zero to get the XM Radio ID.
Well, the radio only goes down to channel one. Does anyone know how to get the code from this radio?
could it be defective?
Thanks
Howie

RE: XM Radio id
The menu settings only control balance, fade, bass, etc. And, there is no remote. It's the factory installed radio (270w - no nav).
When I put the selection *** into the CHANNEL LIST mode, it does not show anything below channel 1.
Very odd.

RE: XM Radio id
I just tried mine as well. It goes from channel 001 to 000 and shows the code. I have the same radio (EX-L V6 sedan premium 270w system w/o nav).
Just use the large **** to change the channel while listening to XM.
In a month or so, you will get a mailing from XM trying to get you to subscribe when the 3-month trial is over. They have all the data needed.

RE: XM Radio id
I have a feeling it is a defective radio.
(Either that, or it's been hacked and I have free XM - but that's just a pipe-dream)
I get all the stations, so it's probably in the 3 month trial now - so there is no need to rush back to the dealer.
I was able to do it on my previous Accord - 2005.
Thanks.

if it cuts out, keep in mind that XM satellites are above the Equator at all times and any obstruction to the south can cause issues. XM uses repeaters on the ground to help with coverage but not for all areas. when it cuts out pay attention to what's south and that may identify the issue being just XM and not the radio or car.
