With a normal battery, if you run it down and then recharge it, it will not have the capacity it did before.

So the Yellow Top is perfect for using stuff with the engine off.

i just wanted to add that there are more then 1 type of yellow top optima batt. also there has been cases of optimas not taking a charge when drained a few times. so take that into consideration

There are different sizes of Yellow Tops, but theyre the same type.

The Yellow Top is the deep cycle battery while the Red Top is a starter battery. They also have a marine battery.
