Default Steering Wheel Scratches

Hey all.

I have a question I hope someone can help with. I have a 2007 Accord EXL, and I'm having a problem with the leather wrapped steering wheel. I'm an officer, and when I go to work I usually wear my gunbelt and full uniform (just easier I guess). I've noticed though, that a few times my firearm holster has scratched the steering wheel on the leather part. Its almost looks like someone took a fingernail and scratched along. I'm not sure what to use to fix those scratches. I'd like to keep the car looking as good as possible, considering its got less then 1500 miles on it. lol. I've stopped wearing my belt, i just put it on when I get work, but I need to get rid of the ones that are already there. Any ideas?

Welcome to HAF. Try some Lexol (Wal-Mart) products to lessen the effect of the scratches, obviously it depends on how badly it's scratched. Got any saddle soap for holsters and such? That might be worth a go. This is the best leather care product I'm aware of but it's not cheap:

Nice ride by the way, you've got a lot of leather there so take care of it.

Hey thanks for the reply. I never thought that saddlesoap would do that, but now that I think about it, it sounds terrific. My parent's own an appaloosa horse farm, so they have got to have it in abundance. I'll have to call mom and find out.

Thanks again!

You're welcome but keep in mind that it may work, certainly not a sure cure. Good luck.
