So I just had a guy run into my 2017 dark metallic gray Accord. In Michigan and just got basic insurance to keep me legal. I grew up with a father that is a retired auto/body guy and I am a 20 year production painter. Seriously thinking about getting the part I need from a junk yard and painting it myself. Have never done this before but think I can handle it with some help from my brothers here. Hopefully somebody with experience can help me through common pitfalls. Mainly getting this huge part on and off without mangling joining parts. Unsure if this is the best thread. ✌️ And hoping for the best
By the way, if it matters it is a 2.4, LX with a CVT. Sedan.
Just found out this quarter panel is welded to the unibody. Further complicating things..

Doesn't look like I've gained any interest but to follow up for posterity, I've gotten the quarter panel, taillight, and bracket to clip bumper cover back on. Looks like I am going to "piece in" the damaged area since the entire quarter panel is just not doable. This is my only car and I just cant have it disassembled for more than a couple days. Going to cut out damaged area, use it as a template to cut out new piece and weld it into place. Not OEM by any means but hoping i can grind and weld it smooth, bondo where needed. This will avoid having to remove windows, blablabla. More will be revealed.
