02 tranns swap

Default 02 tranns swap

ok yall iv got an 02 coupe tranny has 150k on it and is not slipping or other tale tale signs its about to go yet but i was woundering how difficult it would be to do a 5 speed swap. obviously it wont be completly easy but just checkn to see if it was even worth it

it will cost you about 1k with the price of the trans....if you are doing the swap yourself. If a shop is doing it double that price. Some ppl don't feel it's worth the price...I did it on my current cb and I'm sooooo glad I did

could it be done in a day? with full access to shop an tools.

I have only done it with the engine and trans pulled. And I can get it done in few hrs by myself. With the engine bay full...I honestly don't know

You might spend a day or more (unless you already know the set up)just to pull the auto tranny out of the car, swap the shifter assy, install shifter cables, might have to make some holes. Installing master and clutch pedal assy with clutch switch and run hydraulic lines. Then you have to install the manual transmission and slave and line, don't remember if mount is the same or not, and also axles.
