'08 Coupe 4cyl 5 speed question
Anyone here have one yet? I've had mine for about 5000 miles now. I really love it, but am curious about the shifting quality. It seems the only time it shifts smootly is when I'm babying it. I can rev it up to around 4-5k rpm, then shift, but it wants to bog down. I know it's not a "performance" car, but all of the car magazine reviews I read state that this new engine is rev-happy and that the shifting is awesome. Mine seems to bog down between harder, faster shifts.
Is this just the "nature of the beast" or should I have it looked at? I just want that typical easy shift, but with more power.
FYI...the 1-2 shift is great when loaded up with RPMs. It's the 2-3 and 3-4 where I get the bogging. Or maybe hesitation is the better term.

In addition, tall/long gear ratios could be the reasoning behind the hesitation.
EDIT-
EDIT-
falkore - Very simple. 1st & 2nd are torque gears, 3rd & 4th are drive gears and 5th is overdrive. Next time, redline 2nd or turbo that bad boy!

If it's the same gearbox as the 7th gen, both 4th and 5th are overdrive gears. All of the ratiosare for economy, not to keep the engine on boil as you romp on it through the gears. Run it up to 6K and shift rapidly to stay in the sweet spot.
