You should go read some 1200HP viper reviews. Those cars have an extremely hard time breaking 9 seconds simply because it's damn near impossible to get hooked up. launch at anything above idle and it is tire spin........

heh, yeah, and isnt the viper a 3000+ lb car? you know that has trouble keeping contact and why would a 2000lb one make better contact

At least the Accord will have the weight of the engine over the drive wheels. Thats about the only thing that might help.

yes we are aware of that but even you have to be aware of the difficulties of getting 1000+ hooked up in a car that is twice as heavy with 3.33...x the power right?

it is indeed possible to get 300hp to move 1500lbs at those speeds but what happens with 2800lbs and 1000hp? There is a delicate balance betwen HP weight traction and resulting times..........

I still say that it is possible.... but I'm also curious about how long you have to do this and what kind of money do you think it's going to cost?

I assume that you've already applied/asked some companies to sponsor you? Have you started any of the work on the car yet? I'm guessing that without a sponsor you'd have to start putting $650.00/month aside to reach 20k by that time... If you can at least get some work started on the car I'm sure that finding sponsors will be much easier....
