I just bought a 2001 Accord 4cyl vtec it has 154k on it and the transmission began slipping. I just bought a doner car a 1999 accord 4cyl ulev with 116k on it. My question is can I put the ulev engine and trans in my 2001 accord and will the computers hook up or should I swap the computers out too? Also what is a fair price for this job?

 

The ULEV had a bunch of differences in the wiring harness & sensors, probably a TON of work. Completely different ECU with quite a few different pin-outs in it's connections to the wiring harness.

But if the ULEV engine has a better-condition block, you can probably swap over all the sensors & stuff & basically turn it into a non-ULEV engine. Or just swap the tranny.

Hey Jim it turns out that my 2001 accord is a ulev vtech and so is my 99. Can I swap my 99 engine and trans into my 01?

 

When I had a 1998, I had a Helm shop manual but that book only covered 1998-1999. I suspect it'll swap right in but I'm not completely sure.
