It appears my crank position sensor on the timing cover is leaking and I'm willing to bet the leak is due to a dried out squared off o-ring on the base of the sensor shaft, given the age and mileage. I wanted to just replace the o-ring (91333-PNC-006) first to see if that stops the leak or if there's another problem with the sensor.

I understand if replacing the crank sensor with a new unit that there is a relearn procedure that must be done, however would this be needed just for removing the existing sensor, installing a new o-ring on the end and putting it back in? I wouldn't think so but wanted to see if anyone has actual experience doing this before opening a can of worms.

If the relearn procedure is need, is there some kind of DYI method that doesn't require a Honda scan tool? The information on this is very murky. Or are there any $100-200 scan tools that do this type of relearn on hondas? I'd rather spend a little more money and have the tool than paying a dealer to just do the relearn for an exorbitant price, one time.
