Exclamation 97 accord swap...HELP PLZ

ok i've been torn for months now on what to go with h22a or h23a v-tec bluetop. if anyone could give ANY suggestions at all it would be greatly appreciated.
main issues im having maken a decision
-easiest to do at home
-most power for my money
-and which would bolt up to existing f22b auto trans(if either)
-also which is better as a auto

Swapping they are really the same, since the block and the head are basically the same, its just the internals that are different.

They are rated for about the same power, but h23 has slightly more torque.

Both will bolt up to your transmission.

I think you would have a hard time finding an ECU that will run a h23 and a automatic transmission.

ok so h23 more torque and its a good bit cheaper from the prices i've seen online, but i fig the ecu wouldnt really be a big deal cause most honda ecus are a dime a dozen and from what i've read it only came in auto,is that wrong?

The only problem is basically all Honda OBD2 ECUs came with immobilizers. This means that the ECU will only work in the car it was put in from the factory. I can't say specifically for sure if the H23a one does or not because its a pretty rare engine and was obviously never offered in this country, but I know the H22 and F20B JDM ECUs did so I don't see why this one wouldn't.

Even with an immobilizer, it just means you have to use the keys that match the donor car. So if you get all the keys and lock-cylinders from the donor car, swap them into your car, it should work.

On 2nd thought, I suspect 1997 didn't have an immobilizer, so there won't be an RFID antenna buried in your steering column. You'll need that too.

So I have no idea what this is a picture of but this is supposed to be a picture of the 3 wire bypass for 98+ Honda Accords
This is used for connecting a remote start to the Accords with the immobilizer
