98 Accord EX A/C Elimination
I have a 1998 Accord EX V6 with A/C and the A/C Clutch is on it's last leg...I never use the A/C where I live and would like to just elimiate the A/C from my car as it is basically useless to me anyhow. I know it would lighten my car a little and also getting rid of the A/C would increase overall performance (even if just by a very small amount) I have been looking for the Eliminater kit online have yet to find one for my year/make but in searching I have come across some interesting posts suggesting just scraping the A/C unit and running a smaller belt. The posts I read were for a different year honda but was wondering how viable an option this would be for me as well. If anyone could point me in the right direction for either a kit for my car or some helpful info on just running a smaller belt I'd be ever so greatfull. Thanks in advance

RE: 98 Accord EX A/C Elimination
Update: I could not find a kit to eliminate the A/C but I mentioned the idea of just bypassing the A/C pulley and using a shorter belt and thats what we ended up doing. The guy said it is a temporary fix but should work fine. He mentioned that the car normally uses a 6 grooved belt but he had to use a 5 grooved belt to make it work. Basically told me to keep and eye on it, check it every once in awhile, but said it should be fine. Any of you had experience doing this? If so how did it work out?
