Default accord engine swap 3.2l j32a or 3.5l j35a

I just bought a 96 accord for 400 bucks with a f22 with a blown head gasket. I really like how the car looks so I wanted to put a bigger engine in it and my friend suggested the 3.2 v6 from the acura tl. But I found a 3.5L j35a from an acura mdx for $600 and was wondering if it was possible...I know its going to be an automatic but if anyone can tell what they think and any pointers... let me know what u think

Thats gonna be a swap thats way more work than its worth. its gonna cost way more than what you pay for the engine as well. the 94-97 4 cylinders were never designed to house a v6. the 95-97 v6 was redesigned for that reason. You would need special mounts, wiring, etc. its really not worth it IMO. Have you considered just swapping in an h22?

Cross-platform Engine swaps are a wiring nightmare. Entire ECM, PCM, ECU needs replacing. You are basically stripping the entire car down and rebuilding with parts that don't fit. Anything can be done, but swaps like that are expensive. You would need to buy both cars so you had all of the wiring and computers.

Best bet is to swap with a same generation, same platform engine. That way you know it will actually bolt up.

If you want more power, rebuild what you have for higher revs and more HP. Faster, easier, and can offer the same performance.

If you have $10k to blow, you can make the swap work. If not, just find an equal engine to rebuild.

H22A is the most popular swap for an F series engine. And it isn't that expensive due to many similarities. That is prelude to accord. Same weigh means you don't have front suspension or weight balance issues.

Bigger engines in front reduce handling. If the 2 Liter Boxer engine taught us anything, it is that you don't need more displacement to get more power.
