Default any low temp thermostats?

hey all, my car starts to overheat in bumper-to-bumper traffic. I was thinking if I got a lower temp thermostat, this would solve my problem. I think the stock thermo fully opens at 192'F. Would 170' be too low? How bout 180? It doesn't overheat, but does go 3/4 of the way to the "H".

PS: Radiator fluid and coolant are normal, as for fan operation.
Thanks for the replies

second that...

in any event, unless you are just going to drive it to the ground, which i dont think you are...i would go through the effort of fixing it right, not just rigging it up...

i think another oem would be fine...but i would defintely change it...if your system is not pressurizing properly, that could cause it to overheat...
