get the parts first because shops find it a pain to find all the necessary parts for you.
Have you looked in the yellow book? There should be some shops around that do this kind of stuff, or check nearby towns.

Ok, i found a guy whos selling 94-97 accord 2.2 vtec engine and manual tranny 50k on it for 600, he said he has all the other parts for auto to manual swap. He will let the whole set up go for 750. My uncle knows a guy that owns his own shop, and he can swap it for 400. Should i go ahead and do it, do you guys think its a good deal?

if you have the money for it, then go for it, esp since the motor only has 50k on it.

I don't think so. I would buy a new gauge cluster from a manual tranny car though. It won't have the D1-P strip with the light on it. I've seen a manual tranny swap car before and the D1 light on the gauge cluster in thedash was always on. That would drive me insane if it was my car.
That sounds like a heck of a deal. Especially sinceit's a VTEC and it only has 50k miles. I would jump on that too if I were you (and I had the $.) Let us know how it goes!
