Just finished changing my 1996 Accord auto transmission fluid... Pretty simple process, but you will need the correct equipment.
1: Go to your local Harbor Freight tool retailer, pick up a 17" long 3/8" drive Pittsburgh breaker bar for $8.99 as you WILL need this to get the drain plug open. Search results for: '3/8" breaker bar'

2: Also, have a long skinny filler tube at least a foot long or so as to be able to access the transmission filler where the dipstick is located, otherwise, you will not be able to reach it and refill the transmission.

When you do purchase your automatic transmission fluid from your local Honda retailer (Recommended), also ask them for the washer that you will need to replace when re-installing your transmission fluid drain nut.

Overall, about a 20 minute job once you drive your car up on ramps and remove the drain nut...

Shipo is 100% correct.

Don't risk wrecking a transmission trying to save a couple of dollars on transmission fluid. Transmissions and fluids are designed for each other.

I think if you get only 1/3 of the fluid each year, you should be fine.
