Default cheap chips

Hi, I am a new member here. I have a question regarding chips advertised on ebay.

My Brother has just bought a Honda accord i-ctdi 2.2 diesel. he also bought some random stuff from eBay to modify it, just a little.
So he brought his car and bits round and asked me too help him fit them. One of the things was, a chip that is connected 'into' or 'with' or 'instead of' the iat. it was cheap and claims to boost the horse power by 30.

The chip came with instructions, But, were written by some one with a poor command of English.

1) do these chips really live up to expectation

2) If so, how do i fit it? it's just a box with 3 wires (NO CONNECTORS!)

He also Had some magnets to fit on the fuel line, do these do anything??
Also some vortex thing that is supposed to help the turbo.

I would be very grateful of any comments or advice.

None of the ebay chips or electric super chargers or gas mileage savers or jet packs or 600hp increases work...........at all.

x2. You should throw it out behind his back and say its installed. Some of those things can damage the engine.

You can do Intake/Header/Exhaust for about USD$1,000. Suspension can be done for about USD$600-1500. Not sure what kind of aftermarket support there is for the diesel...

The parts he purchased are useless on a petrol engine much less a diesel. Tell him to sell them to some unsuspecting twit and leave the diesel alone. A better air intake may possibly help........possibly.
