h23 is a much better engine all the way around. If you can get a h23 engine swap that and add a h22 vtec head. h23 vtecs are sick engines...it's my all time fav. honda engine. Now if you swap for the h23 then there is no point to use ANY f22 parts except for the f22a4 exhaust manifold. The h23 engine is rate around 160-170hp I don’t remember the exact hp rating of it...but it’s nice.
The h23 also has the 87mm bore unlike the f series 85mm bore. So at the point you can use h22 type s pistons in the block to bump up your c/r for added power. If you swap for the h22 head you can also use the h22 type s cams. Much more aggressive and add some good power. But you what to watch out if you are using the type s cams with stock h22a valves b/c if you miss shift you will damage the vales since the type s vales are diff. from he regular h22 vales.
you can only use the f22a4 exhaust manifold with the h23 head not the h22 vtec head just FYI

do it!...find yourself a h22 head and some type s pistons I don’t see why you can’t make little over 200hp

one of my really good friends is selling h22 type s cams and type s over size pistons for a good price and he will ship. Let me know if you want them...and I mean good price. If I had a h series engine I snag them in heart beat for the price he is selling the for. Let me know I hook you up bro!!

never heard of turning the dizzy rotor to advance the timing.
"boosting" your timing should ONLY be done by the tuner. He/she knows what needs to be tweaked./..Don’t listen to your friend he will cause you engine to fail sooner than later
