Engine reverberator??
So upon doing some minor repairs for low speed impact, the body shop said they removed the engine "reverberator". I'm not sure if they used the correct term but the guy was explaining it's the device that helps muffle the engine noise. I know of stereo reverberators but not sure what an engine "reverberator" would be properly called.
Anyway - he gave me the choice to wait for it to come or just pick the car up right there and then. I really needed the car so I just picked it up. I now notice the negine is noticeably louder so what part is it do you think the body shop guy was referring to? I'd like to know so I can find it and install it to get the engine noise back in check as it was prior to fender bender. I googled reverberators for cars and all I could find as expected was for car stereos.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in helping me find what I've described above.
Thanks!

What kind of car? I think some newer ones use something like speakers to cancel engine sound.
Otherwise if it's more than 1 or 2 years old I can only guess that he's talking about engine mounts or mufflers.
