Default EXHAUST TICKET ISSUE

[align=left]i just got a ticket for my header but the cop made it so i have to go to the stste referee and get it certified for emissions. what exactly are they going to look at? are they just gonna make me have it tested for emissions and see if it passes? the ticket citation is cited as "altered emissions systems" violation or somthin like that...will my car be ok with a skunk2 catback and stock header/downpipe and stock cat?

yeah you should be able to pass easy. if u had straight pipes with no cats then that would be a whole differ story

so you got a ticket for your header, but it's stock? They only thing that would make it non-emissions legal would be if you replaced the cat with a test pipe... I can see noise violation maybe, but it doesn't sound like that's the case. I think Minnesota law is it can't be louder than 93dB @ 3000 RPMs @ 1' away from the exhaust tip.

no, the cop gave me a ticket FOR my obx header as a modification to the emissions system. do you think itll pass with the header with the stock cat? or should i have it tested with the stock header?

That is so stupid.
It shouldnt matter what you do to the exhaust as long as it runs through the factory cat.

Good luck man.

My guess is that is should pass just fine.
The stock cat is still there. Is it the oem exhaust or what?

I don't get it. A cop pulled you over because of the header under your hood? There has to be more to it.

no, i got flagged down for my tinted taillights, but he actually decided to ticket me for my tint and the header, after making me pop the hood so he could check sh- out.

Wow, tinted taillights and popping the hood to look for stuff? Sounds like one dumb and desperate cop.

They do things different in california, I assume that's where he's from anyway. They cant just throw any part on teh car they want, only the ones that are certified not to screw up the tailpipe emmisions.
