I think my gas gauge is messed up... I got the car 2wks ago and it was on E(way below the line..... It only took 15.3 gallons to fill up. The book says its a 17.1 gallon tank.. Also My low fuel light didnt come on until the needle was on the letter E. Is there any way to diagnos the gauge or something????

i believe our cars have an overflow tank of some sort. im new to accords but thats about how much my tank holds when i fill up from E.

Yeah, Honda seems to make their gauges so they behave that way.

Since the gasoline cools & lubricates the fuel pump, you REALLY dont want to let the tank go completely empty anyway.

 

my gauge "7th gen" has the light come on with 4 gallons. i think of it as a safety net. and mine is 17.1. my girl had an 98 same way.
