Default getting an ecu chip for a 06 accord?

so ive been thinking about getting an ecu chip on my 2006 accord ex(2.4L) and i was wondering what the positives and negatives were about getting a new ecu. is it really worth it? and whats the estimated horsepower gain?

ive been leaning between an ecu or a cold air intake and im not really sure which way to go. i dont really have a great budget either so if you could give me your opinion on what is more cost effective, that would be great. or if you have another alternative to increasing horsepower for cheap that would be great too. thanks for your help :]

A chip or a new ECU they are different things?

The ebay chips=worthless

A new ECU the only options would be:
Get a RSX-S or Civic SI ECU $300
Get a RSX-S or Civic SI wiring harness $300
Get Hondata Kpro $1000

HP gain........not many, designed more for built motors.

You should probably wipe the ecu idea away,as far as cold air intakes, i would recommend a nice SRI instead.A somewhat cheap way of getting more hp.

Dont even think about being on a really tight budget and being fast at the same time.

I and live2rice could go on for days on how your k24 motor could reach its full potential.

And that FULL potential won't be inexpensive.

Figure out a budget so you can concentrate on what makes the most sense as a coherent package. If bolt-ons are all you can afford, then forget the ECU & we have a better idea of what to recommend.
