This sounds like a question for live2rice. Yes, you can swap an H22 trans onto an F22. Live2rice did it (he now has an H22 engine as well though). He should be able to tell you how to tell what trans you have. There should be a stamp on it somewhere. I think the clutches are interchangeable, but I'm not 100% sure. Finch13 may know the answer to this also.

An F22 clutch/pressure plate/flywheel should work on an H22 tranny. Currently I have an H22 flywheel with a F23 clutch disk and pressure plate on and it works just fine.

Also, the H-series trannies have shorter gears than the F-series, 5th gear in an H-series will be revving much higher than an F-series when they are both going the same speed. If you can tell us what your engine is revving at 70 and/or 80 mph we could probably tell you the tranny. Also, it's stamped somewhere on the case, but I have no clue where.

It is completely possible to have a H22 tranny on a F22. It should say right on the front of the tranny on a little sticker type thing the code, its probably either a M2Y4 or a M2B4 if its a prelude tranny. like so:

Most and or all H22 and F22 clutches are the same/interchangeable. I believe one company...Centerforce I think listed different part numbers for the two engines, but I know for a fact Exedys are the same as I ran the same clutch on my F22 as my H22.

Should... both generations had F-series engines, and like it was said, F-series and H-series are mostly compatible with each other and their brothers.

If you're in 5th gear at 60mph and your tach says 3000, you have an H22 trans. If it's lower than 3000, it's an Accord trans.
