if he said the head need a rebuild then that's prob. why it would not hold compression. Do any of the valves look bent form what you can see???
I personally don't know a way to do a compression test on a engine with no head bolted on.

no not buy looking at them there still in the head but some of the valves are still sticking out just a little 2 of them actually and the cams are out of the head , wich i plan on staying with my sohc i want the f22a6 head yet there hard to find i also came across an add on craigslist about someone selling a skunk 2 stage 2 cam in a f22a4 head for 150$ do you think that will work well with the h23 block.

doing the h23 block with f22a head is gonna be just as much as a pain as a h23 head on a f23 block You have to plug oil drain holes.
Custom head gasket ect.

Also your f22a6 head has a better vale train than the f22a4 head.
Now if you want to stick with you f22a6 full engine you can use some parts from a h23. The intake manifold from the h23 is a nice power adder. Also that head with the cam for 150?? ehhh Id pick it up for 100 not 150. If they didn’t change out the valve train with the cam I would not bother..cus you might end u having to change out the whole vale train.

But if you HAVE to do this f22a head on h23 block search on cb7tuner.com big talk over there about this swap
