Losing power

Hello guys,

I've noticed that my car is losing power during take offs, especially going up an incline. It's a 2001 Accord with 284,000 miles. I take care of vehicle and it runs quite well with 284,000 miles. What could be the problem?

1st option. transmission (especially an auto) manual transmissions have dif problems.

2nd option. gunk has built up in the engine and it needs a total service with an engine flush (about 65 bucks)

3rd option. pistons arent sealing properly and you are losing compression. Try asking a mechanic to look at your pistons, piston rings, and each cylinder for decompression type stuff.

4th option. the ecu is on the fritz and every time you lose a little traction the traction control system goes crazy like on a mercedes.

5th option. If you dont change your oil about every 3000 miles at your car's age, you can get a lot of scarring on the internals. get eneos, amsoil, or mobil 1 synthetic. This will smooth everything out and get you back on track.

these may be the problem. i cant know w/out looking right at your car and taking it apart. Hopefully this helps.
