Default More powerful engine 1998 ex

Hey guys I'm a relativly new honda owner. I want to put a new more powerful engine in my '98 accord ex xoupe. It currently has a 4cyl ULEV VTEC engine. Any ideas of what engine I should be looking for?

The ULEV has a whole ton of differences in the wiring harness, much different from the 2 other 4-cylinder engines.

You can search for posts about swapping a H23 engine, but you'll need to convert your car's wiring harness to match a non-ULEV.

For a lot of work & money, you can swap in a V-6 & 6-speed from Acura CL-S or something like that.

Oh, man. The 2.3L ULEV is kind of a rough swap. If it were a '97 or earlier, then an H22 would be easy. An H23, though, is more tech specific, and will hardly yeild any more power. If I was in your position, I would install a T3/T4 turbo. There would be less headaches for sure. I hope this helps. Good luck.
