RE: Question about driving stickshift

As long as you're not "riding the clutch", it should be fine. Yes I know my sig says I drive an Auto...but my previous car was stick. The habit stuck...I still put my car in N :D

RE: Question about driving stickshift

u put the auto in neutral when u hav to stop? doesn't that cause undue stress on an auto, shifting in and out of drive all those extra times?

RE: Question about driving stickshift

I usually do the "neutral coast" with the clutch disengaged.I hate holding the pedal down. I always pop it out of gear and let off the clutch at lights. I guess it's a laziness factor. Also I don't want to somehowtake my mind off of driving and let my foot off the clutch when the light is still red, then lurch forward and hit the car that is stopped in front of me.
To answer your question (already been answered, but I'll say it anyway): it will not ruin the clutch as long as you aren't holding the pedal down.
