Default re-build

so my 98 accord ex 5sp had almost 150000 miles on it. I recently got the car from my parents and have only so far put in new clutch and flywheel, short ram, and re did the whole ignition. I am looking to go turbo or maybe nitrous instead but i know for sure my engine wont be able to handle that with all its miles. Ive been looking at rebuild kits on the internet and i was wondering if I do an engine rebuild along with a valve job will it make my motor "like new" as in it will now be able to handle low amount of boost or nitrous.

well depends on what exactly is included in said rebuild kit. obviously you have to do all new bearings. and if you are doing it for boost you should put in forged rods and pistons. have everything machined. then you should be good for boost or nitrous

what makes you think the engine won't handle it?

does it have weak compression?
leaks?

and you are wasting your time if you are using cheap no oem parts.....

on that note i have some friends that live by the motto "boost it till it breaks.........then build it"

of course that doesnt work too well if a rod goes thru the block........ but other than that

f series motors can handle a fair amount of boost on stock internals

id say just save up and rebuild it with internals that can handle boost..just to be on the safe side...you dont want to have have any major problems when you turbo or nitro it in the long run..like what live2rice said..forged internals...(would be awsome if its like forged everything..LOL!!)

if its true they work best after 100000 miles then would i be safe to run low boost even tho the 150k mark is in reach?

yeah its still ok to run low boosts...im just thinking ahead..u know what i mean..like for example you want to modify ur engine some more so it can handle more boost...guess just to save money and pains later on...
